The One Antioxidant Your Mom Forgot To Tell You About

It’s scary isn’t it? You’re mom was right no matter what you think.

Eat your broccoli and drink your milk!

You probably thought she was annoying as you chomped on your vegetables, gagging on every bite.

Her cooking may have been partly to blame for the gagging but that’s between us.

She pointed you in the right direction but like most, you ignored her.

You’re now tired, overweight and sleeping like crap.

You forgot to listen to your mom. She also didn't tell you about a super antioxidant sea creatures feed on their whole lives.

Was she holding out on you? Doubt it.

She more than likely didn’t know about it herself.

Let’s dig deeper…

Carotenoid, what the heck is that?

What do vibrant green sea grasses, beautiful red beets and stunning yellow-red peppers have in common?

They all contain carotenoid compounds.

Most carotenoids are consumed by eating a well-balanced diet but there’s one that’s special.

One carotenoid has the super lipid soluble antioxidant.

Astaxanthin is said to be the "king of the carotenoids.” It’s red and responsible for turning salmon, crab, lobster and shrimps’ flesh pink.

It’s very unique and comes from 2 different sources…

  • Microalgae called Haematococcus pluvialis
  • Sea creatures who consume this microalgae

Astaxanthin is produced when the algae's water supply dries up and is forced to protect itself from ultraviolet radiation. It’s the algae's survival mechanism and serves as a protective barrier for the algae from intense sunlight.

The problem is you would have to eat algae like salmon do, or you would have to consume a large amounts of salmon.

Both unlikely.

The benefits of astaxanthin

As a natural antioxidant this little super sea algae has restoring properties like other antioxidants but the astaxanthin benefits come from it’s potency.

Antioxidants are free radical scavengers but this little hero is more. It’s cited to have...

  • 65 times more power than Vitamin C
  • 54 times stronger than beta-carotene

Carotenoids are known to be potent quenchers of singlet molecular oxygen but astaxanthin takes this to another level…

  • 800 times stronger than CoQ10
  • 11 times stronger than beta-carotene
  • 550 times more potent than green tea catechins
  • 6000 times stronger than vitamin C

It packs a little algae punch doesn't it?

It helps relieve pain, fights fatigue, cleans up your cells, and protects your skin.

The research is still coming out on astaxanthin but positive studies are slowly emerging. Astaxanthin benefits are clear, it’s just a matter of you trying it and seeing for yourself. Side effects are rare.

Research or not, sea algae is still a positive arsenal for your creating healthy habits initiatives.

Say no to Synthetic and buy Hawaiian astaxanthin

Astaxanthin is gaining in popularity and like everything else, people will try to replicate it in the lab.

Synthetic anything should never be your first choice. It just doesn't work and can pose greater damage to you.

Just think of the salmon you had last night.

More than likely it was farmed and fed synthetic animal feed. Say goodbye to the beneficial astaxanthin properties.

The best way to get your dose of this super antioxidant is by consuming it through supplementation. Here are some things to consider…

  • Make sure it’s created from marine microalgae
  • It must be lipid soluble and taken with a fatty meal for maximum absorption
  • It should be a minimum of a 4mg serving size.

How to take Astaxanthin

Me personaly, I use the Nutrex BioAstin Astaxanthin brand.

I consume 8mg every morning with my ghee and coconut oil coffee blend. Remember, the good stuff is lipid-soluble so consume it with a fatty meal, whatever that may be.

Of course no fried junk.

The BioAstin astaxanthin has done well for me.

I have more color in my skin (nothing major since I’m usually a flamingo) and a considerable difference in my energy levels.

These are my own unique observations, so try it for yourself.

Give it 14 - 45 days to kick in.

Have you tried the BioAstin Astaxanthin? What benefits have you seen? What dose do you take?
